Hi Everyone! Merry Everything!, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwansa, whatever!  It's the 4th week of my being  guest designer for Christmas Card Challenges. When this posts it will be Christmas Day!
This week challenge is a sketch challenge. I used it to make a money or gift card holder. The shape of the sketch lent itself well to a #10 envelope size. I turned the sketch on it's side.

The cute snowman clipboard sticker is from the Jovial Collection from Basic Grey. I layered it over a border sticker from the same collection. I used the snowflake embossing folder on the teal paper and inked it with Antique Linen Distress Ink. This was super simple, just right for a last minute project just before gift giving time.
Thanks for visiting, I'll see you next year!!

Christmas Card Challenges #3

Hi Crafty Friends,
This week's challenge at Christmas Card Challenge is Non-Traditional Colors. Well, I started out non-traditional when I colored this cute Kraftin Kimmie Stamp. I was going to focus on the blues and pinks.
Well, during the creative process, picking out papers to match, I forgot what the theme was! Opps.

Oh well, it still came out cute! I'm so excited to mail this to my youngest daughter because her and her boyfriend just bought a snowmobile. I made this with them in mind.
I'll bet you all are super busy right now. I know I am!
See you next week! And Merry Christmas too.

Christmas Card Challenges #2

Hi all, We in the thick of the holiday season now, I'm a little behind but I plan to catch up tomorrow somewhat, how about you? I enjoyed making this card for week 2 of my guest design stint at Christmas Card Challenges. The challenge is "add doodling". I hadn't cut into my newest My Mind's Eye paper so that was fun. I inked up my Recollections Santa stamp and colored with Copics. I added some lace, seam binding and a Wild Orchid crafts cherry blossom. The sentiment is on the inside. And lastly, I added some dots on the scalloped oval with a gold pen. That's my doodling!

Christmas.Card.Challenge.One.Layer.Card

Hi Friends,

Here is my 1st of 4 Guest Design Team cards for Christmas Card Challenges Blog. I'm super excited to be chosen for the month of December!
But, WOW, was I challenged when I read what the first week's challenge would be!! A "One Layer" card!
Eeeekkk! How do I do that? I love alot of layers on a card and have never made a one layer card, ever!
Soooo I thought about it, picked myself up, dusted myself off and gave it a shot. And it's not that bad, I actually kind of like it.

It helped to have some nice thick Papertrey Ink cardstock so it would not be flimsy. You have to be careful with certain punches though because sometimes they don't want to punch thru thick cardstock! My M.S. Deco punch survived.
I used 2 Recollections (Michaels) cling stamps (name of set unknown) with some gold and silver embossing power. The white ribbon has some pretty gold and silver snowflakes to match the embossing powder.
I added a few jingle bells, some gold twine and a row of pearls and called it done!
Thanks for looking, friends. Come back next week!
Kim :)

Another.Christmas.Card

Hey there, I had to rush to get a card made with the Tuesday Morning sketch designed by my crafty friend, Kathy. Isn't this a great sketch?  Love it! I used another Phindy image. my favorite site for digital images.
The paper is Crate Paper's Christmas line from last year.
I die cut the scalloped circle, punch a scalloped border, pierced around the rectangle and added some silver flat back pearls to coordinate with the silver trim on the ribbon. After trying the sentiment in a few colors on a scrap, I settled on heat embossing it with white embossing powder.
Well, friends, I still have alot more Christmas cards to make but I'll add this one to the pile!

Birthday.Gus

Hi Friends, I have been saying this card post until I had a challenge to go with it and I found one this week. It's Glitter Geeks Challenge-Humor
I made a cute card with ol'Gus here from Bugaboo Stamps for my BIL. This one's a digital image that I colored up with my Copics.
I used K&Co paper from their birthday paper. I think it's called Confetti. This card is so cute in real life. I used MFT star dienamics to cut the stars. The sentiment stamp is Flourishes.
Hope you enjoy looking!

CCC#49,Phindy's,Papercraft Star

Hey Friends, Lots of color going on in this card! I used a cute Phindy's Place image for this, coloring it with Copics. I'm still learning how to use them but the colors are so vibrant that it makes it so fun to use.
I matched the marker colors to the patterned paper. I can't remember what company it is but I got it last year. It may be Crate Paper. The red PP is MME.

I used a sketch from Christmas Card Challenges Blog. You should check out their weekly challenges because it's time, people, to make those holiday cards!

I'm also submitting this card for this weeks Papercraft Star challenge to use a flourish or use the flourish inspiration photo for your card. I used my cuttlebug flourish embossing folder.

My most recent baby card won their top challenge last week.

Papercraft Star Sketch.Baby Card

Hi Blog Friends, I'm here with a baby card today using Papercraft Star's Sketch Challenge #68. I love how this challenge blog posts their challenges ahead of time so you can plan to play in advance! I knew I need a baby card a few weeks ago so I used this sketch and saved the blog post.
Some very good friends of ours had their first Grandchild. I used some MME papers for this. It's perfect for a baby boy. I stamped the Giraffe and sentiment with this cute CTMH stamp set (Welcome Baby) in Momento Rich Cocoa ink. I added a matching button from the MME collection with some brown PTI Bakers twine.
It's all arranged on kraft cs.
Until next time, peeps!

CCC.Phindy's.Blue.Christmas

Hi Friends, Well, I have officially started making Christmas cards! Ugh. I hate winter. But I certainly had fun making this card with this gorgeous new Basic Grey Nordic paper pad. Ummm. Just love sweaters, and these papers have such pretty knitted designs and fair isle prints. Just love it! When I saw this paper line, I thought of this cute Phindy's Place image called Winter Nest.
I used a Viva La Verve sketch and I also am submitting this on the Christmas card challenge blog. It doesn't include this week's challenge but there is an option each week to upload ANY Christmas card.
I'm not going to stress out this year making a ga-zillion Christmas cards. What ever gets made is what I'll send.
I'm too much into making mini albums right now!  Links below.
Take care this week, my friends.

Halloween.Various.Challenges

Hi Crafters! It's a beautiful Sunday in CT. I wanted to make a treat box for Halloween. I went to splitcoast stampers tutorials to make this cute little project. It's called bag in a box, most of us have seen these but I never had a chance to make one. Plus I needed to put this cute little witch on something!

It's a recollections cling rubber stamp that I colored with Copics. The sentiment is from the same set, which I stamped on paper and cut apart. Then I zig zag stitched it on to the oval. The paper is double sided Basic Grey Erie. The ribbon I picked up from a scrap book store, brand unknown.
The border punch is MS picket fence and the tab punch is SU.

I will enter this in several challenges.

Mojo209

Hi Friends, Here's my Mojo Monday 209 card. It started out as a birthday card and then I changed my mind and decided to stamp "take Care" on it so it could be either a get well, sympathy or emotional support card.
I also wanted to use pink in case I wanted to use it for a breast cancer support card.

I struggled with the ribbon choice for this card. I tried just about every kind of ribbon I own. I took a photo of the mess my ribbon is in. By the way, don't get one of these ribbon holders. Such an inefficient way to store ribbon!! It looks really good when it's all neat but it takes so long to keep it neat.

Pumpkin Mouse

Hi Blog friends, I colored up this cute image, Punkin Mouse, from Phindy's place and have been waiting for a challenge to use it with. The colors in my card loosely fit the color challenge at Phindy's Place challenge blog this week so I'm entering it! "Opposites on the color wheel" I'm using the colors where yellow and orange overlap and hues of purple. Close enough!

I also am using the current Mojo Monday sketch and playing along with C4C-Halloween challenge. Links are below.

Butterfly.Wedding.Card

Hi Friends, My daughter needed a wedding card for the coming weekend so I whipped this up! No, not really, it takes me a long time to make a card but I had weeks of notice. I didn't use a sketch, just started with  the focal point of the 3 layered Spellbinders and a beautiful Verve stamp. The matte gold paper is shimmery but not too much. The white and ivory is shimmery too. Can't remember the paper manufacturer but I got it at Joanne's. Then I just added some lace and black velvet ribbon from RRR. You know these butterflies, right? They are 2 sizes of Martha Stewart punches. The card is large, 5 X 7. I don't like a wedding card to be too small. Believe it or not, it's an arranged marriage so my DD asked me to go easy on the "found my true love" stuff!  Hope you like! Kim

TheSweetSpot.Birthday.Card

Hi all, I have a card to share today that was my Nephew's birthday card from Saturday. I used the divine Echo Park 6x6 paper pad, Walk in the Park. The papers are really bright and cheerful. Just love Echo Park paper. I used the Sweet Stop Sketch 126 with a spin (to use stars on your card). I moved the text to the center as a focal point and used a couple of Spellbinder dies to cut out. I doodled the dots around the diecut, added those adhesive stars on the Basic Grey buttons and tied some PTI bakers twine in brown. Links to some challenges are below. Have a good week! Kim :)

Sunflower.Thank you.

Hi blog friends! Time to change our cardstock colors to Autumn colors, huh? I used the -----color challege at --------. I also used the SFYTT sketch for September. I ABSOLUTELY love this sketch. I think I really like rounded corners. The image is a Fred She Said digi. The set has 4 flowers. It's one of the first digis I ever bought several years ago. I used some Basic Grey paper and a button from the Curio line.

Here I was trying a different photo angle. Links for the challenges follow.

Live.life.in.color

Hi all, I made this card for a Flourishes Challenge, Colors of Fall. I bought this Flourishes Peacock stamp set months ago and I've been kinda at a loss as to what occasion to use it for. I decided to just make the card and hope something will come up. I was inspired by the teal on the color pallate. And i used something close to the nougat color.
I used a Mojo Monday sketch from last November. If anyone can suggest an occasion to use this stamp set for, please leave me a comment!

Happy.Anniversary

Hi all, I here with a card for my In-laws anniversary, 60 something years of marriage! It's tomorrow, on September 11th. Too bad they have to share it with the national tragedy. :(  God bless the families of all who were lost.
I had so much fun making this! Gosh, I love pink and black! This purr button digi image is available here. I love the wedding kitties!!! It may be a little too cutesy for my inlaws but I wanted to use it. The sketch used is the current MFT Wednesday Stamp Club on SCS. And the colors are from Shabby Tea Room this week. (links below)

Phindy.Skier.Card

Hi all, I have another card for this week's Phindy's Place Challenge. Anything goes with a Phindy's Image which they have the first week of the month. I made this last January and never shared it so I'm doing it now!
I made this for my sister's birthday who is an avid skier. I used some cute winter paper which I zig=zaged with black thread. I added some sparkly alpha stickers.
I added some stickles for some snowy sparkle too. Those 3 panels are supposed to be different sizes, I didn't go crazy with the paper trimmer! Below is this inside. Thanks for looking. Kim

Phindy's.Anything.goes.birthday

Hi Blog Friends, it's September! Oh No. I have a card to share today with the cutest Phindy's Place image called Celebrate with Cake. This week's Phindy's challenge is Anything goes as long as you use a Phindy's image.
I recently applied for their Design Team. I made the finals but it wasn't in the cards for me this time around. Maybe next time!,
For this card, I paired this cute image with Oct.Afternoon papers, a prima flower, button, a gem for the cherry on the cake, and a border punch. This is my first card with Copic coloring. I need practice but I like how it came out. Usually I color with Prisma Pencils.
I'll be back again this week with more cards.

Happy Bird-Day

Hi all, I made this card for my sister in law that fit several of this week's challenges on some card
blogs I visited. This is a pure innocence digi from Heather Ellis' site. I paper pieced the dress. The paper is MME, don't know which collection. I colored her with my new copics. I have about 25 now so I'll still be coloring with Prismas sometimes. The sketch was a MFT Stamp Wednesday sketch from a few weeks ago.

Edit: I went away for Labor Day Weekend and missed the challenges I was playing with this card. Oh well!!!
Hope you enjoy looking!

CR84FN36.VLVAUG2011

Hey friends, I'm back with a card that combines many challenges and goes a little out of my comfort zone. Distressing isn't my favorite thing to do but I keep trying hoping my card will look like those who do it so well! This is an inspriration card for a friend who is a little down. I used the Verve sentiment stamp on the inside that says "Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul." I couldn't get it to fit on the front with this sketch.
I used the color challenge from CR84FN, a Viva La Verve sketch, Phindy's place-vintage challenge, The Kraft Journal-Anything goes (use kraft paper). Pink Elephant-Stitching, Shabby Tea Room-polkadots.
Yes, there are polka dots on the designer paper that is embossed in the center square!

Flourishes.Hop.Challenge

Hi friends, I have a card to share that I made for a Flourishes Stamp challenge. The premise of the scavenger hunt hop is to go to the blogs of 7 wonderful design team members (and the 8th clue is on the Challenge blog) to get a clue. These clues are then to be used to make your own card with all the elements that need to be included.
I just have a few Flourishes stamps, but Wow, do I love them. This is the first time I inked up this one. I will give this card to my DD and her hubby for their 2nd wedding anniversary next week.

BeachBall.Birthday Card

Hi Blog Friends, It's mid summer and I don't even want to THINK about it ending! Even though the upcoming August calendar is weighing on me. This card came out cute due to the Echo Park paper
and a darling digi image from Sweet & Sassy. This is my Niece's birthday card for her party tomorrow night.
I used MFT Sun die, a SU scallop punch, ribbon and some yummy Papertrey Ink CS. If you haven't tried PaperTrey card stock, do yourself a favor and try it. It's so nice and heavy and the colors are great. The stamp is Flourishes.
I tried Dorcas technique for a making a cloud background but it didn't come out very good. Oh well, practice make perfect! She has a tutorial on her blog HERE. At least I tried something new! I wrote "Have a ball on your birthday! snort! haha Corny but cute...

This image comes from Phindy's Place digital stamps. It's called Sweet Dreams. I am playing along with this weeks challenge "Double UP" which is to use 2 of something on your card.
I used Cosmo Cricket DP from the Earth Love collection, PaperTrey CS and twill ribbon. The stamps are CTMH.(the stars and sentiment).
See you soon!!!!

Martini.mouse

This week at Phindy's Challenge Blog, the theme is anything goes! As long as there is a Phindy image used on the card, I paper peiced the umbrella, looks like a
real printed drink umbrella!
I used Basic Grey paper, a recollection gem flourish, organza ribbon, and a happy birthday cuttlebug folder.I used this great sketch from Sweet & Sassy too! Enjoy your week! Tootles, Kim
