Merry Monday 114

Hi Friends, I made a card for Merry Monday 114 this week. The challenge is Sparkle, Shimmer, and Shine. To do that I heat embossed the Verve ornaments with silver embossing powder, adding shimmery silver twine and sparkle-y sequins.

The ornaments were cut with various solid card stock with a standard SB circle die. I fussy cut the ornament topper and glued them on. There is also a matte silver mat under the striped paper, the sentiment is also Verve.

Thanks for stopping by! I have some other cards in the works but planning my daughter's bridal shower is cutting into my crafting time.  :)  Bye for now. Kim

KK Marina the Mermaid

Click on photo to see better!

Hi Friends, I've been wanting to color the adorable Kraftin Kimmie Stamp "Marina" for a while and since Summer is finally here I'm sure it will fit some challenges. I also had a goal with this card of finally breaking out my Copic Air Brush System, a Christmas gift!!! Took me long enough, huh? I was a little intimidated by it but it worked great after just a few minutes of trying. I sprayed 2 colors on the circle die cut to match the patterned paper.
This card was fun to make. Kraftin Kimmie stamps are some of the best for Copic coloring. I did Google the stamp to see how other people colored it and to use as a guide. The sentiment stamps are Kraftin Kimmie too. The wavy paper is perfect, Echo Park I think. This is actually Mojo Monday Sketch 350 but I changed the rectangles for circles (vellum) and I tied the bow on the opposite side. (And I made it a square instead if rectangle).
The small shells/etc. are some findings from Michaels. Cloud Nine makes the rain drops I used as bubbles.

Merry Monday 113- Pink Silver and White Challenge

Hi everyone...I'm combining Merry Monday and Mojo Monday again for a Christmas Card. I love pink for a Christmas Card so I had to play along again at Merry Monday, that and I love the design team. Every Monday I can't wait to see what the challenge is!

When I think of silver at Xmas time I think of bells so I pulled out my Waltzingmouse "Compliments of the Season" stamp for the sentiment and heat embossed it in Silver. Then since Walking in a Winter Wonderland (where the sentiment comes from) is a song I pulled out music note paper and finally added some jingle bells to round out the theme.

For my bow, I followed Jinny Newlins's Dressy Bow Tutorial, I think I could have done a little better but I was all thumbs this morning. I chose a tiny star embossing folder, wish I had used a different one, and added a few black gems. So, another holiday card down, many to go.
Thanks for visiting today. :)  Kim

AI You're how old?

Hey Friends, I got my first Art Impressions stamp set. Here she is! These stamps sets are so funny! This one came with a sentiment that says "At our age, we need glasses, lots and lots of them" which I stamped on the inside. Since I like wine, I thought I would use this cute stamp a lot.
These stamps are large and I always struggle with coloring large areas like the couch. I did the best I could with the shading, just doing sections of the couch but I need more practice. I wanted to texturize it with a piece of towel or cloth but was too lazy to go find one!
I colored her with bright colors, kinda like, Peg Bundy would wear, LOL! The wine glass and her glasses have Glossy Accents on them. The card is simple, just a chevron embossing folder, ribbon and sequins. I used last weeks Seize the Sketch but that challenge is over now.

SSS222 Father's Day

Hey Friends, I'm here with a Father's Day card today. I followed the Sweet Sunday Sketch 222 for this bright card. I got the scrabble tile layout idea from Pinterest and remembered that I had a cute package of Basic Grey chipboard Alphas that looked like scrabble pieces. I pulled out my Doodlebug Hip Hip Hurray paper, MFT star dies, a few dew drops and Karen G's great sketch and put this together.

I'm not sure it's right for my husband so I may give it to someone else. (Even tho he is a really "Fab Dad"). I used an MFT sentiment stamp set for the inside. I stamped "You are awesome" and "You're the best" on the inside and added some die cut stars.

I'm submitting this to the following challenges:

Merry Monday Aqua and White

Hi Friends, yes, another Christmas card but I have a summer card coming soon. I made this card for Merry Monday Challenge ---, an Aqua and White with a splash of color theme. I guess my card has more than a splash of green but I'll submit it anyway. When I was designing the card, I forgot it was supposed to be mostly Aqua and White. Still a lovely addition to my stash!
I used Mojo Monday Sketch challenge 348 for this card also, combining it with some MME paper and some Hero Arts Christmas sentiment stamps. The buttons are SU and the Snowflake die is MFT.
On another note, time for me to get working on a Father's Day card!
Be well!

Hero Arts Hello

Hi Peeps, Happy Monday, if there is such a thing. LOL. My card is happy, that's for sure because of this adorable Doodlebug Paper Sugar shoppe. I was going to enter this card in a Hero Arts sketch challenge and found out I missed it by many days! oops. I'm super pleased with it anyway because until lately, I rarely make cards with stamps only. It's a new thing for me not to color on every card but I'm branching out! I'm also letting myself cut down on the amount of layers I use. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE lots of layers but not so many is nice too!. (More modern)
I'm discovering a lot of "new to me" stamps that I just love. One company is Hero Arts. The VW Beetle is from Hero Arts "Going" set. I HAD to stamp it on a hip floral paper. And then I used another Hero Arts set for the sentiment and dots, name unknown at the moment. Then for the arrows on the sketch #3 I just cut a small strip of chevron paper. After adding a wood veneer arrow and some sequins it was done.

Thanks for visiting. Other challenge links below:

Merry Monday 100 and Mojo 347

Hi Friends, Today I'm playing in the Mojo Monday 347 Sketch Challenge and the  Merry Monday-Christmas Food Challenge. I'll have to keep this short as the challenge closes in a few hours. Don't want to miss it! Isn't Lolli Anya cute? I don't do cute that often but I felt like coloring her and she had a lollipop as the Christmas food.
Before I started coloring her, I watched one of Kristine Werner's videos HERE because the image has such a lot of hair. I was really happy with it until I decided to add some more flicks up by the crown of her head. Oh well, live and learn. Over all, I love the card.
