CTD 360

Hey Friends, I was so inspired by the Colors in this week's Color Throwdown 360 because I've been wanting to use Chipped Sapphire and Seedless Preserves Distress Inks in a watercolor background for months. I have seen others use these colors and I adore them together.

I am super pleased at how the background came out. I just painted water on Strathmore Water Color paper and dropped the ink colors on with my brush. ( I had smooshed them on to a craft mat and spray it with water.) I let the water spread the colors around and only helped it a little bit and air dried it.
Then I copic-colored the ADORABLE ghosts from the new Lawn Fawn Booyah set and fussy cut them out. I stamped a tree from Lawn Fawn Sweater Weather set in back on SSS Fog CS and die cut it.

I them set about making a shaker card with my new to me LF Stitched Square dies. I used them to cut the black fun foam too that I used to pop up the frame.

Then the  pièce de ré·sis·tance was to add the bat sequins from Recollections, So Fun!!!!

A sentiment was heat embossed as well. This card was a labor of love, to say the least.

SSSC286

Hey Friends, how's your week going? I'm well but my Brother in Law is in the hospital with an unknown illness. So I got right to work last night and made him a card with this very little-used set I got from Whimsy Stamps called "Up, Up and Away".

I started by looking for a sketch, as I always do when I don't know where to start. I found Karen's wonderful sketch for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 286. When I saw the circle, I knew it would be the perfect backdrop for a inked cloud scene to place the hot air balloons on. The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps too and coordinates with the stamp and die set. The paper is Echo Park Jack and Jill Boy. Love it!

Some textured trim and PPP sparkling clear sequins finish it off. I love it when my vision for a card works. I knew this set would be great for masculine get well cards.

Lawn Fawn Texture Challenge Take 2

Hi Friends, I thought I'd give the "Texture" challenge at Landscaping Challenge another try. My other entry wasn't as textured as I would have liked so I tried again. My texture comes from the water color paper and the embossed background. I'm using Sketch Saturday also.

The Lawn Fawn sets I used are Party Animals (which I won for being the Queen of Green a few weeks ago, YIPPEE!), So Thankful, Falling for you, and Riley's Alphabet. I used some older LF paper too and LF twine.
I water colored the blue sky background on the square die cut with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink, colored the pumpkins and bear with Copics and stamped the rest of the images with various Momento Inks.

Hope you enjoyed my share today. See you soon!

Mojo Monday 414

Hey Friends, I decided to go back to my old style of card making for this card. But the sketch is not old, it's this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch. I used a retired Flourishes image, colored with Copics, paired with some small scale patterned paper. I hadn't used any of this lace from my stash in a very long time.
My Mom just sold our family home after 40 plus years and has moved into a retirement community. This card is going to her. Thanks for visiting.

Lawnscaping Challenge 113

Hey Friends and Lawn Fawn Fans, Here's my card for the texture challenge at Lawnscaping 113. Right off the bat I'll tell you my texture is the stitched detail around the die cut and the embossed sentiment banner. I was going to dry emboss the tiny striped background paper but it would have been too busy.

I used Doodlebug Paper and the ever so cute Baked with Love stamp set and dies by Lawn Fawn colored with Copic Markers. I also used Riley's alphabet (I think) for the word "wishes". Bannerific stamps and dies were used for the banner. Pretty Pink Posh sequins finish it off. Links are below.

Sunflower Bookmark

Hi Friends, Happy Labor Day Weekend! I'm here with a project I made for my Local Card Club. The challenge is "Anything but a card". I choose to case Beate Johns beautiful corner book mark. There is a tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers here. I didn't put a bow on mine or any raised embellies because it might dent the book pages but I did pop up the flower.  I'll probably make a matching thank you card.

The image I used is retired Flourishes set. I don't have the name with me as I write this. I  used Crate Paper DP for the gingham and various brands of card stock scraps. The die cut is Spellbinders. I used Momento Summer Sky ink to sponge the background of the die cut while still in the die then stamped the sentiment with Versafine Black.

These book marks make fabulous small gifts. The theme possibilities are endless! This one is going to my Mom's fabulous Realtor to helped sell Mom's house in 2 days!

The challenges I'm submitting this to are below.
Thanks for Visiting. :)
