Coffee Lovers Blog Hop-Fall

Hey Friends, I couldn't very well let this week go by without participating in the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop, now could I? I had to whip up a little somethin'.

I used a Simon Says Stamp called Choose Happy for the sentiment focal point that I heat embossed with Copper powder. It has about the same shine as the ribbon I used but the photo didn't capture it. I pulled out my neglected Spellbinder Labels 28 dies for this card. The size of the card was dictated by the width of the largest die. It's about 4" or maybe 3.75.

I used a new Echo park Fall paper pad that was fun to break into. I actually regret the placement of the bow but, oh well, I'm probably just going keep this card. My husband always makes the coffee every morning so I may sneak down stairs one morning and put it by the coffee maker.

Have you seen some of the awesome cards in the Blog Hop gallery? Wow, they are impressive and there is a gazillion! Nice prizes too!

Thanks for stopping by today! Kim

Lawnscaping 138

Hi Friends, I'm playing in the Lawnscaping Challenge 138 -Use a Geometric shape or shape. I was also heavily inspired by Amy R's ink blending at the Color Throwdown Challenge 411. But, Ugh! I missed the link up. Frown.
I used Distress Inks like Amy but used slightly different colors. I used Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade and Scattered Straw. For the stamps, I used 2 sets. They are Lawn Fawn Booyah from last year and Frosty Fairy Friends (the tree house) from this year, colored with Copics. I inked the background on Bristol paper, cut out the images and popped them up through the die cut circles. A heat embossed sentiment was added. I love how the background came out. It's so bright and pretty!

Inspired by all the little Things 25

Hey Friends, This week at Inspired by all the little Things #25 we have a pretty Chrysanthemum photo inspiration. It's Mum season here but I haven't planted any yet this fall, better get on it!

I chose to play with this gorgeous WPlus9 Beautiful Bouquet Mums stamp set colored with Copics. The gold embossed sentiment is from a Simon Says Stamp Friendship Blooms set.

After die cutting the colored panel with Avery Elle Wonky Stitches die, I adhered it to a rust colored card base and added gold sequins. I like to keep my sympathy cards simple, not even sure if it is ok to have sparkles on this kind of card?

This week our guest is Bonnie Sharp. Come on over to the blog and see what we have cookin!

Warm Wishes

Hey Friends, I've got a quick post today with a card for Merry Monday 214.  Ok, only my second time trying to color with Zig markers. They are a little tricky but I'm getting the hang of it. It doesn't help that these stamps are sooooo tiny BUT cute, from Simon Says Stamp "Peace,Love and Joy" set.

After coloring them on Bristol paper, a fussy cut out and arranged them on a piece of patterned paper. The rectangle also has a white card stock hill cut with LF stitched hillside border dies. I hand cut a banner, stamped the sentiment and adhered it, adding a button and twine.

Inspired by all the little Things 24

Hey There Friends, We've got a cute photo inspiration for you this week at Inspired by all the little Things #24! I love this rustic image with a hot beverage that you can interpret any way you want.

I used a new-to-me Avery Elle Tea Time stamp and die for my cup. I set it on a wood grain patterned paper banner and added a wood veneer heart for a nod to the wood in the inspiration. Using Mojo Monday Sketch 459 I added patterned paper for the background and tilted panel. The brown PP has text in it for the newspaper in the photo. A twine bow and pearl finish it off.

Can you believe Fall is almost official here? I can't but I welcome it! Our guest this week is Allison Kostiuk AND we have the fabulous Wanda Cullen joining our team! Come play with us this week, won't you?

Merry Monday 213

Hi friends, I'm playing in Merry Monday 213 today. It's a fabulous Red and White Photo Inspiration challenge this week. See image below.

I paired it with Mojo Monday 465 sketch resulting in my festive card. I used Simon Says Stamp Ornaments stamp and die set with Momento Rhubarb Stalk ink. Then hung them on twine from the Twinery (might be called cherry) The chevron panel is Simple Stories Snap paper mounted on SU Cherry Cobbler card stock. A sentiment from the same SSS set was stamped with a SU grey ink.

Fall Lawn Fawn

Hi Friends, I'm playing in the current Lawnscaping Challenge -Texture-fied (Use texture). I used lots of twine for my card! I used a Freshly Made Sketch but missed the link up.

I used the tree from LF Sweater Weather and the raccoon from Holiday Party Animal stamp sets. The critter is colored with warm grey Copics and the rest is stamped with various Momento inks. Some Fossillized Amber distress ink was sponged on some of the elements!

Inspired by all the little Things 23

Hey Friends, Welcome to Inspired by all the little Things challenge #23. Who doesn't love black and white? And a little gold and pink!

I started my card with some loose water coloring on Ranger distress water color paper with spun sugar ink. ( I think that's what I used) I used the same ink to splatter as well as some black ink. I used a Neat and Tangled heart die to cut vellum and gold glitter paper.
A white Hero Arts sentiment was heat embossed on a scrap of black card stock and hand cut into a banner. Some Doodlebug sequins and a strip of striped paper finish it off.

We have a new Challenge Creator Karren Johnson and a super Guest Karen Davis so come over for a visit and make a card with us.

Merry Monday 212

Hey Friends, Yay! Merry Monday 212 is back! And it's a fantastic color challenge of Gold, Black and White. I was designing this card in my mind today and saw this Simon Says Stamp ornament as a replacement for the diamond shape in the Mojo Monday Sketch 464.

I used Gold Delicata Ink to stamp the ornament and die cut it out. The rest fell together thanks to this Pink Paislee paper and unknown brand washi tape. The sentiment is from the same set stamped twice in the Misti with Tux. Black ink. I used DCWV gold foil paper to mat the background panel.

Some watered-down gold ink splatters, sparkling clear sequins and an white iridescent twine bow was added as embellishments. So fun to make!

Curtain Call-Sept 1

Hi Friends, Happy Labor Day! I'm sharing a card I made for the Curtain Call Candy Apple Challenge and a few others. I found that I don't have an apple stamp so I had to improvise. I wanted to use black polka dot paper but this apple paper from Simple Stores reinforced the apple theme so I went with it.

Then I made a little make-shift apple. I used a MS leaf punch which I cut a few leaves from and added a red enamel dot. I used a retire Sweet Sunday Sketch for the layout.

This card was nice and simple and it was refreshing to make a card in 15 mins instead of 1-2 hours!

Inspired by all the little Things #22

We're baaaacck! Back from our summer break, Crafty Friends! We at Inspired by all the little Things have a pretty Sunflower inspiration photo for you all this week. Here's my take.

I used a retired image but you can find something very similar and equally as pretty at Power Poppy Stamps. I heat embossed the sunflower in white, colored it with Zig markers and fussy cut out. It was the very first time I used them. I need a little practice!
I used a Simon Says Stamp set called Flip Flop Season sentiment stamp embossed in gold to make an encouragement card. The background was sponged on water color paper with Distress Inks. I totally forgot to put some water splatters on it but that's ok. :)

Our inspiration photo is super fun! Come join us this week.
Thanks for visting.
